MEET THE EASTUITION TEAM
English, Spanish, and Creative Writing
GCSE and A-Level
Grammar geek and word whizz, Sarah-Jane, brings a fresh and exciting approach to learning, making the impossible possible.
With over twenty years’ experience of teaching teens and adults, and sixteen years as an Examiner, the Founder of eastuition passes on her love of Language so students can develop confidence and reach individual potential in English and beyond. Once a tour leader in South America, an interpreter in Spain, and private tutor for a renowned billionaire, Sarah-Jane brings the wealth of her experience to eastuition and enriches the learning of all her students.
When she’s not making words jump off a page for students, she’s getting words down herself as a writer represented by a Ella Kahn of DKW Literary Agency. Sarah-Jane also loves cycling, beach walks, cooking and making pictures out of buttons. She thinks tea tastes best from a white cup and she can’t watch anyone eat a lolly from a wooden stick.
English expert, Jane, brings special effects to tutoring and gives students a close-up of their potential in glorious Technicolour.
With more than a decade’s experience as a teacher and Head of Department, Jane started her career in magazine publishing, organising awards’ events at venues such as the Natural History Museum. But she made no bones of her love of media and the written word, later delving into a project funded by the Heritage Lottery whilst creating educational resources for English and Media Studies.
When she’s not watching films, she’s writing the movies in her mind, and has completed a Short Story course at the University of East Anglia. She loves to swim (especially in the crystal-clear waters of far-flung locations), enjoys photography, and makes the most of long Suffolk dog walks. Jane dreams of publishing a short-story collection, and of returning from a ski trip without a broken limb.
Director of Maths
GCSE and A-Level
Geometry genius Gill subtracts confusion and makes things add up for students in a fraction of the usual time and effort.
With over 40 years’ experience teaching Maths to children and adults, Gill’s a fantastic formula in our equation. Outside of teaching, Gill works as a Senior Examiner with Cambridge Assessment for GCSE and GCE, and she’s involved in setting papers for overseas students. In addition, she multiplies her skills all over the world as a Trainer for Cambridge International Examinations.
Within the brackets outside of work, Gill divides her time between travelling, gardening, cooking, sewing and swimming. She still factors in her mathematical mind when playing bridge, and has a particular penchant for puzzles.
English Key Stage 3
Quote queen Jo takes centre stage with our Key Stage 3 students and gives creative expression the leading role.
Now a secondary school teacher in Suffolk, Jo started her career as an actress, training at Drama Studio, London. She worked in theatre, television and adverts before treading the boards in education. At eastuition, Jo brings the written word to life and takes the drama out of learning, while spotlighting students’ skills.
When she’s not working, Jo’s writing her diary, directing theatrical productions, or visiting the theatre. A fanatical foodie, she loves chocolate and cheese, as well as reading, and long country walks. Her favourite author is Ian McEwan, and if she were an animal, she’d be a monkey or a deer.
