Summer Retreat Days

July and August

Wednesdays in Woodbridge

Take your writing somewhere new

Tailored teaching and engaged encouragement in a calm and creative space

Our Retreat Days offer a chance to escape the daily grind and indulge your creative bliss in a gorgeous setting in the heart of Woodbridge. With a maximum of six in a group, your writing will receive the pampering attention it truly deserves.

Suitable for amateur writers of all levels, from complete beginners to the more experienced, our Retreat Day workshops draw on a variety of sources and activities, with innovative exercises and teaching methods. Activities will often require silent and individual work, and there will be opportunities to share work amongst the group for those willing to do so.

eastuition’s Creative Writing Coach, Sarah-Jane Page, is an experienced teacher and writer signed by DKW Literary Agency. You couldn’t be better represented.

The Details

The Day includes four workshops with a creative blend of coaching and individual tasks.

After the morning’s musings, you’ll enjoy a two-course vegetarian lunch on the top floor of the venue (a light and airy space in a converted Maltings), followed by a river/town walk with a creative task that will inspire the afternoon’s work (weather permitting!).

Refreshments will be served mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

9.50am arrival and introductions

10.00-11.15am Session 1

11.15am Coffee break

11.30am-12.45pm Session 2

1.00pm Lunch served upstairs

1.45-2.15pm Creative walk

2.15-3.15pm Session 3

3.15pm Tea break

3.30-4.30pm Session 4

You stay in that writing bubble.

Unlike most other writing retreats, the coaching doesn’t stop just because your Retreat Day ends.

We’ll give you a metaphorical party bag to take away with you! Not only will it be filled with memories as sweet as cake, but you’ll also find an optional writing task wrapped up in a deadline.

Once you’ve submitted your work, you’ll receive an audiovisual critique of your writing in a video file format (mp4). Feedback will focus on strengths in your writing, and will suggest areas for further improvement.
