SPANISH for Adults

Spanish – from Beginners to Advanced

The limits of my language are the limits of my universe.

Ludwig Wittgenstein

With over 400 million native speakers worldwide and 40% of the population growth among Hispanic people, Spanish is the fourth most widely spoken language (after Mandarin, English and Hindi). If we count only native speakers, Spanish outranks English.

It’s therefore no surprise that, according to ‘Languages for the Future’ (a recent report published by the British Council), Spanish is now the most important foreign language we can learn.

Spanish is becoming ever more vital in business too. In North America, Hispanic consumers are the fastest-growing segment of the market. Those who can communicate in Spanish will have the edge over their mono-lingual counterparts.

Learning Spanish will also contribute to a greater appreciation of Hispanic cultural heritage. From Miguel Cervantes to Gabriel García Márquez, or from Goya to Picasso, the world of art and literature is rich in Spanish influences. And let’s not ignore the gastronomy. Learning Spanish can be the perfect excuse to sample Hispanic cuisine: tapas, paella, burritos, tamales, ceviche … and that’s just for starters!

So, whether you’re planning on moving up the corporate ladder, travelling across Argentina, or you’ve bought a property in Alicante, having some Spanish under your belt could make all the difference.
